Of course none can hold a candle up to Eudora but I settled on Thunderbird partly because I use Firefox and the data organization was very similar to Firefox. So I switched (kicking and screaming of course) to another email client. And the fact that other email clients did work with the same server settings lead me to the conclusion that the world had finally passed Eudora by. I know enough about email configurations that it wasn't any setting problem. Given it was no longer supported by Qualcomm and my version dated back to 2006 (maybe even earlier) I just figured there was some kind of protocol change that Eudora didn't support.
Any insights you can give? Other than telling me to switch to another provider and having my mail forwarded there from ATT?įWIW I was a diehard Eudora (Mac version 6.2.4) user too from the 90's up to about two years ago when it stopped receiving mail. I believe this is a server glitch of some kind and that no matter what I do it is not resolvable on my end.īTW, I have followed instructions on settings to the letter. I have installed the new secure mail key and the fact the mail does come down would indicate it is not the fault of the email program. Sometime after I've been to the web, I can download the mail through my email program (but not always).
Then I have to go to the web to read my mail. Sometimes perfectly, as before, but about 50% of the time message says: Server not responding. I can send email but now have trouble receiving it.sometimes. I am still using Eudora 4.6 as an email client for and until a month or so ago (and for years and years previously) it worked perfectly.
